• IRCC writes the minimum as 200 KB without saying whether KB is 1,000 or 1,024 bytes. We show 205 KB (204,800 bytes) so a file that meets it satisfies either reading.
• The IRCC photo page (modified 2026-09-23) says passport photos are taken by a commercial photographer, including for online renewal, and that a photo you take yourself is not accepted. This tool can resize a photo the photographer gives you; it does not make a self-taken photo acceptable.

• The limit depends on which IRCC account you use. Check the account you are in, not just “IRCC”.
• IRCC suggests saving images at a lower resolution, such as 96 or 150 DPI, to cut file size.
• When a form has one upload field, combine files into a single PDF at 150 DPI or less.
• IRCC does not state whether MB means 1,000,000 or 1,048,576 bytes, so leave headroom.
