Word, Excel and PowerPoint to PDF
Convert a Word, Excel or PowerPoint document to PDF. This one tool uploads your file to our converter, which does not keep it.
How it works
- Sign in. It is free.
- Add your Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OpenDocument, RTF or text file.
- Press Upload and convert.
- Download the PDF.
This tool uploads your file
Every other tool on this site keeps your files on your device. This one cannot: laying out a Word, Excel or PowerPoint file needs a full office engine, which runs on our converter. Your document is sent over an encrypted connection, converted, returned as a PDF and not kept. Nothing about its contents is logged.
If a document is sensitive, you may prefer to export it to PDF from the program that made it, then use Password protect a PDF or Redact a PDF, which stay on your device.
What to expect
- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OpenDocument, RTF and plain text files up to 4 MB.
- The layout is produced by LibreOffice. A document with unusual fonts, macros or very complex formatting can look different from how Microsoft Office shows it.
- Password-protected documents cannot be converted. Remove the password first.
- The free plan converts 3 documents a day, and GetFormatted Pro converts up to 100 a day.

Frequently asked questions
- Is it free to convert Word to PDF here?
- Yes. A free account converts 3 documents a day, and GetFormatted Pro converts up to 100 a day.
- Is my document uploaded?
- Yes, for this tool only. It is sent to our converter, turned into a PDF and returned. It is not stored. Every other tool keeps your files on your device.
- Why do I have to sign in?
- Because converting runs on a server we pay for, an account stops it being abused and lets us count your daily conversions.
- Will it look exactly like it does in Word?
- Usually close, but not always. The layout comes from LibreOffice, so documents with unusual fonts or complex formatting can differ.
- Can it convert a password-protected document?
- No. Remove the password in the program that made it, then convert.
- How big can the document be?
- Up to 4 MB.
