How it works
- Add the PDF. Its current metadata fields appear.
- Edit a field, clear it, or use Clear all metadata to remove everything at once.
- Save. The result is reopened and every change checked before the download appears.
Good to know
- Only the standard Info-dictionary fields and the document's XMP metadata stream are covered. Metadata embedded in individual images or attachments inside the PDF is not touched.
- Password-protected PDFs are refused.
Frequently asked questions
- Does this remove all traces of who made the file?
- It removes the standard metadata fields and, if present, a separate XMP metadata stream — check the box for XMP if the tool shows one was found. It does not touch metadata inside embedded images or attachments.
- Is the page content changed?
- No. Only the document's metadata fields change; pages, text and images are untouched.
