Photo and signature pack

Fit a photo and a signature to their own file-size and pixel limits in one go, check each finished file, download them under separate names, and get a PDF report of what was measured and what was not.

How it works

  1. Add the photo and the signature. Each has its own box.
  2. Type each file's limits from your portal's own instructions, or use the checked OCI card limits. The maximum size in KB is required; minimum size and pixel limits are optional.
  3. Prepare. Each result shows every limit against the finished file. Download the files, a ZIP of the ones that met their limits, and the PDF report.

Good to know

  • The photo and the signature each get their own limits. GetFormatted has checked the limits for one portal only (the OCI card online application); for any other, you type the numbers from your portal's own instructions, they are used exactly as you enter them, and the report says they were entered by you.
  • Only the file's size, pixel dimensions and format are measured, on the finished file. Background, head position, expression, glasses, how legible a signature is, and whether a portal accepts the file are not measured, and the report lists them as not checked.
  • The tool does not crop, retouch or enlarge. A maximum size shrinks the image to fit; a minimum size, minimum pixels or a square requirement is only checked, so a non-square photo is reported as not meeting a square rule. Use Prepare a photo to crop first.
  • A file that cannot reach its limits is reported as not met, with the closest result labelled as over a limit, and is left out of the ZIP. It is never padded to reach a minimum size.
  • Output is JPEG or WebP. A PNG signature becomes a JPEG by default and transparent areas become white.
  • The report is a plain record made in your browser from the finished files. It is not a government acceptance decision and does not promise that any portal will accept the files. Portals change their rules, so check the source again before you upload.

Frequently asked questions

What are the photo and signature limits for my application?
Your portal states them, and they differ between portals. GetFormatted has checked the limits for one: the OCI card online application (JPEG, at most 200 KB for each image, and a square photo of 200 to 900 px). For any other portal, type the numbers it gives you. They are used exactly as you enter them, and the report says they were entered by you.
Does it crop or fix the photo?
No. It shrinks the image to fit a maximum size and checks the result. It does not crop, retouch or enlarge, so a photo that is not square is reported as not meeting a square rule. Use Prepare a photo to crop it first.
What if a file cannot reach its limits?
It is reported as not met, with the closest result labelled as over a limit, and it is left out of the ZIP. The tool never pads a file to reach a minimum size.
What does the report say?
For each file: where the limits came from (a checked source with its date, or entered by you), the size, pixels and format measured on the finished file, each limit marked met or not met, what was done to the file, and what was not checked. It does not say a portal will accept the files, because only the portal decides that.
Is my signature uploaded anywhere?
No. Both images are processed in your browser, and the report is built there too.
