PDF pages per sheet and booklet
Put 2, 4, 6 or 9 pages on each sheet, or reorder a PDF into a print-ready booklet you fold and staple. Choose the paper size, margins and gap.
How it works
- Add the PDF and choose Several pages on each sheet or Booklet.
- Choose the paper, the number of pages per sheet or the binding edge, and the margin and gap. A sketch shows which page goes where.
- Build. The result is reopened and its sheet count and each sheet's size are checked before the download appears.
Pages per sheet
- Pages fill each sheet from the top left in reading order, or from the top right if you choose right to left.
- 2 pages sit side by side on a landscape sheet, or one above the other on a portrait sheet. 4 and 9 use a square grid; 6 uses 3 by 2 or 2 by 3.
- Every page is scaled evenly to fit its cell, never stretched. A page of a different shape leaves blank space.
- The last sheet holds whatever pages are left.
How the booklet order works
A folded booklet needs the pages in a different order from the document. The page count is filled up to a multiple of 4 with blank pages at the end. The outermost sheet carries the last page beside the first on the front, and the second page beside the second-last on the back, and so on inwards. Print double-sided, choose flip on short edge, and fold the stack in half. Printer menus word the duplex setting differently, so print one sheet first and check that the back is the right way up.
Each booklet page is half a sheet, so an A4 sheet gives A5 pages. The tool does not compensate for page creep, the slight outward shift of the inner pages of a thick booklet.

Each page is placed as a single graphic. Text stays text, but links, form fields and annotations are not carried over. The tool counts them before you run it and again after.

- Password-protected PDFs are refused.
- Files over 100 MB or 300 pages are refused. Only small generated files have been measured, on a desktop computer.
Frequently asked questions
- Is the file uploaded?
- No. The file is read and rewritten in your browser, and no request carries it. Your original file is never changed.
- How do I print the booklet?
- Print the result double-sided with flip on short edge, take the stack out and fold it in half. If the back comes out upside down, switch the duplex setting and print again. Test with one sheet first.
- What if my page count is not a multiple of 4?
- The tool adds blank pages at the end to fill the last sheet and tells you how many. The blanks are the last pages of the booklet.
- Will the text stay selectable?
- Yes. Pages are placed as graphics and their text remains text. Links, form fields and annotations are not kept.
- Can I make a booklet for a right-to-left language?
- Yes. Choose the right edge as the binding edge and the page order is mirrored, so the first page is on the right.
- Can I lay out only some pages?
- Not yet. The whole document is laid out. Use Delete or extract pages, or the page organiser, first to keep only the pages you want.
- How do I know the result is right?
- After building, the tool reopens the new PDF and checks the sheet count and every sheet's size against the plan. Only small generated files have been measured, so look at the result before you print a long run.
