Under 6: no need to look at the camera or have a plain expression. Under 1: eyes need not be open, and the supporting hand must not be visible.
The page gives one technical size limit for all applicants; it does not list a separate child limit.

How it works

Presets exist only where we read the official source (see the country pages); anything else falls back to custom dimensions. A measured pixel/byte-size check is not a government acceptance decision.

Will the photo be accepted?: We measure the finished file against the published rule and show each result. Only the issuing authority decides whether a photo is accepted.
Does it retouch or smooth my photo?: No. Presets only crop, resize and re-encode. They do not change the background, smooth skin or alter the person.
What if the photo is too small for the preset?: The tool says so and offers no download. It does not enlarge a photo, because that adds no real detail. Use a larger original.
What if my country or document is not listed?: Use custom dimensions. We add a preset only after reading the official page.
Are my photos uploaded?: No. Photos are processed in your browser.
